The Building the Education Revolution (BER) Implementation Taskforce was
established to examine the operation of the BER. It received, investigated and
responded to complaints, ensured value for money, and recommended changes to
policy, contracts or projects to ensure the objectives of the BER were realised.
The Taskforce was led by Mr Brad Orgill and worked closely with State and
Territory Education Authorities.
The Taskforce was established by the Australian Government on 12 April 2010.
On 6 August 2010, the Taskforce provided its
Interim Report to the Minister for Education.
The Taskforce’s First Report was released on
15 December 2010.
Taskforce transition arrangements
The Taskforce ceased operations in July 2011. Complaints and outstanding
quality investigations have been referred to DEEWR for follow up. The Chair and
Deputy Chair of the Taskforce will be available until October 2011 to provide
advice to the Minister for Education and to ensure education authorities deliver
agreed action plans on complaint and defect resolution.
The Taskforce has contacted complainants to advise of transition arrangements.
